Short version:
If timed but non-racing ultradistance cycling (randonneuring) intrigues you, come give it a try on 26 March.  Details at www.PittsburghRandonneurs.com

Additional comments:
Last year, on my one word post of "Ultradistance?", someone from ACA asked "Why?"  This year, the answer is easy:  Pittsburgh has an ACP certified qualifying series for grand randonees such as the 17th Paris-Brest-Paris (http://www.paris-brest-paris.org/pbp2011/index2.php?lang=en&cat=accueil&page=edito).

Pittsburgh Randonneurs:
Brevet season is here.  Congratulations to Bill Huber, as the the first rider to advance register for the 200 km on 26 March.  Pittsburgh is hosting a full spring ACP qualifying series (200 km, 300 km, 400 km, 600 km) and well as our summer Allegheny Mountains Cruel and Unusual Punishment 200 km, 300 km, and 400 km.   We'll likely have a Fall Rally 200 km as well in September,  but we haven't put that on the calendar yet.  Ditto for an overnight there and back.

Read about the rides on our website:  www.pittsburghrandonneurs.com.    Thanks to Dan Blumenfeld for the 200 km route concept, and Dale Vilsack for the 300 km route.

Advance notice appreciated (even pre-registration) if you plan to ride.

Lance Kennelty and I are going to volunteer ride the 200 km route this coming Sunday.  Expect a cue sheet update after that.

Let's have a good year riding.
