MumbaiThe trailer of Salman Khan's Dabangg 3 recently dropped and it has made waves across platforms. The Dabangg franchise is one of the most loved ones, and Dabangg 3 trailer has exceeded expectations.

Dabangg films have always had villains that are larger than life, and as they say, the bigger the villain, the stronger becomes the hero. In the third installment, Chulbul will be pitted against Balli, played by Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep. While Chubul Pandey is one of the most loved cop characters in Indian cinema, Balli also promises to be a supervillain, and glimpses of powerful dialogues and action sequences have upped the excitement.

From the remarkable entry shot of Chubul and Balli, some whistle worthy sequences, and punchy one-liners by both, the trailer shows how the film promises to be an action bonanza. There is also a bare-bodied visual of Chulbul, which has sparked speculation about a bare-bodied battle. Another noteworthy thing about the film is that for the first time, Chulbul will be up against a villain, with whom he has an old score to settle.

The much-awaited, Dabangg 3 is directed by Prabhudeva and produced by Salma Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Nikhil Dwivedi under the banner of Salman Khan Films and is slated to release on 20th December, this year.

The first trailer of Salman Khan's much-awaited Dabangg 3 was finally unveiled Wednesday evening and it is quite a treat for fans of the Bollywood star. The trailer shows Salman Khan making an impressive entry as he introduces himself as "policewala gunda."

It also shows a glimpse of the antagonist Sudeep and power-packed action we have come to associate with the film. There are many scenes that will appeal to Bhai's fans -- Salman punching a goon through a door, his pants falling as he whips out his belt during an action scene and dialogues that can only be described as whistle-worthy.

The movie seems to give the audience the backstory of the tough cop Chulbul Panday. We are first introduced to Panday and his pretty wife Rajjo played by Sonakshi Sinha. After the customary action and dance sequences, the trailer takes the audience to the earlier years of Panday.

In the flashback sequences, Panday is seen romancing Khushi played by Saiee Manjrekar, daughter of Mahesh Manjrekar. We are also introduced to the antagonist, played by Sudeep, who appears to come between the the young lovers who may have been separated because of him.

Almost a decade after 'Chulbul Pandey' and his iconic mannerisms reinvented the cop universe in Bollywood, Salman Khan is reviving the seminal character for Dabangg 3. An action-packed year-end entertainer that reunites him with Sonakshi Sinha from Dabangg franchise, and also introduces Kannada actor Sudeep as a typecast Bollywood villain - 'Balli Singh'.

Directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Salma Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Nikhil Dwivedi, Dabangg 3 will chart the origins of Chulbul Pandey aka Robin Hood Pandey, after he takes on Sudeep's gang from his hometown and meets the woman of his dreams (twice).

Well, judging by the comments and reactions that the first official trailer of the film has been receiving, it is safe to assume to Salman Khan went with the correct draft of the trailer as in a matter of minutes, Chulbul Pandey manages to get all eyes on him.

Salman Khan is seen donning the comic Chulbul Pandey hat with ample drama and action to complement the tone of the film. The trailer ends with a shirtless Salman with a background of rolling sand and dust.

Salman Khan fans are going to have a good Wednesday as they might get to watch the trailer of his upcoming film Dabangg 3 in their cities before the official release. Apart from Mumbai, a special trailer launch of Prabhudheva's directorial venture will be organised in nine other cities in India for fans living in these regions of the country.

Talking about the trailer, Salman Khan has stood strong on the expectations of the viewers. The trailer can be called the perfect recipe of a blockbuster Bollywood film with peppy songs, funny hero who aces action scenes like a pro and two gorgeous ladies who add the pinch of romance to the story. The trailer starts with Salman's adorable love story with his wife Rajjo as they share sizzling chemistry through songs. Then enters Saiee as Chulbul recollects his old days and claims 'Koi Dabangg paida nahi hota, uske peeche ek kahani zarur hoti hai'. Then enters the villain, Sudeep Kiccha who brings chaos into the lovely world of Chulbul Pandey.

Interestingly, Saiee has already impressed the viewers with her charming smile on the first poster of Dabangg 3. In the film, she will mark her debut as Khushi and will play the love interest of Salman Khan.

Saiee is the daughter of Mahesh Manjrekar who himself is a part of the movie. Saiee is making her Bollywood debut with Dabangg 3.

This time, Kiccha Sudeep will be playing the villain Balli in this part of the movie. Salman introduced his first look and wrote, "Villain jitna bada ho, usse bhidne mein utna hi mazaa aata hai. Introducing Sudeep Kiccha as Balli in Dabangg 3. #KicchaSudeepInDabangg3."

At one point in this trailer, Chulbul Pandey, the endearing vigilante cop played by Salman Khan, whips his belt from around his waist to cut the villains to size. A heroic moment awaits. But then, his pants fall off.

This feels a gag that belongs to the Rohit Shetty universe. It's a sign that the world of Dabanng is no longer going to just be about swagger and spats. Puerile humour will find its way into the narrative. Whether welcome or not, this is to be expected. For it is Prabhu Deva, whose films very much peddle in such humour and colour, who directed and co-wrote this movie (with Salman Khan, Dilip Shukla, and Aloke Upadhyaya).

For the Dabanng purists however, this movie will also provide the origin story of Pandey's style of tucking his sunglasses behind his collar. There's a flashback sequence with Pandey's first love played by Saiee Manjrekar. There's also the ever resplendent Rajjo, played by Sonakshi Sinha with brighter neon saris. But hey, this is a Prabhu Deva film, after all.
