Hi Deborah,
I hope you are doing well. Several of us were planning to head over to
your office to drop of our competency cards after our exam today but as
we were leaving, Ning told us that we are not able to turn them in
without the site director signature at the bottom. The majority of us
did not have our preceptors sign off on that line because they are not
site directors. I actually had one preceptor ask me if she should sign
and I told her not to sign it.
For PISCES, there are block liaisons but we really do not have contact
with any formal site director. We do, however, receive MUCH feedback
throughout the year regarding our progress. The people involved in that
process include our preceptors and an adviser. We are worried that it
would be really inefficient for all of us to individually track down all
of our preceptors early next week, given that they have complicated
schedules and work at various sites. I wonder if it might be better to
do one of the following:
* have the preceptors email you to confirm that we discussed midpoint
feedback but turn in the cards without a signature
* have our advisers sign all of the cards in the role of "site director"
because they were the ones to meet with us and formally discuss feedback
from our RIME sessions (this way we would each only have to track down
one person)
* have the course liaison for each block sign the cards for all PISCES
students for that block (this would allow us to group our cards and
divide an conquer)
* turn in the cards without signatures but reference the online midpoint
RIME e-values from each of our preceptors last October.
Please let us know if any of these options sound reasonable, as it would
be a huge distraction from intersession to have to set up meeting times
with each of our preceptors. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Sincerely,
Amanda

Please email me if you would like to schedule another time to come by. If I am not in the office when you drop in, feel free to drop off all of your originals and leave them in the basket in front of my office which is the first door on the right side after you enter.
