Converting MiniSeed files to CSS .w and .wfdisc

Hi there,
I'm trying to see if the Pisces setup can be used to convert seismic MiniSeed files to CSS format, including both the .w (waveform) and .wfdisc (parameters) components. From the various documentation I have read it's not clear to me whether this is the case and I'm wondering whether rdseed would be a more appropriate choice.
If Pisces can be used I'm hoping you might have an example script which reads some arbitrary MiniSeed files from an arbitrary directory, shows the appropriate intermediary steps and outputs the .w and .wfdisc files.
