I hope you enjoyed last week’s presentations on Syria and the Rio+20 UN Conference just us much as we from the Committee did and are keen to read about our next set of PIR Soc events. Below is your weekly society update:

 

Weekly Meeting

 

Thursday, October 4th, 7pm to 9pm, in Seminar Room 3, Chrystal Macmillan Building. 

This week we are having a Politics and IR Film Night: We will be watching “The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara a film about the former US Secretary of Defence and the lessons he learned about the nature and conduct of modern war.

 

As usual, we will be going to Malones afterwards for drinks, food and casual chat.

“PIR Café – Career, Internship and Volunteering in Politics and IR”

 

Wednesday, October 3rd, 9am to 1pm, Ground Floor, Chrystal Macmillan Building

This event continues a tradition of previous years. The café which is co-hosted by the Politics and IR Department and the PIR Society aims at bringing students and staff of the school together for a casual chat in a relaxed atmosphere with free tea, coffee and biscuits provided. In addition, this week you will have the chance to find out about career, internship and volunteering options in Politics and IR.
