It seems that I have either a corrupted firmware (unlikely, since a reboot fixes it), a dying unit, or just old software that can't cope with some change or other. I've updated the driver for this box very many times - the last only a couple of weeks ago - but it seems that TBS doesn't ship firmware updates as part of this, so I guess I have whatever version originally came with this Ubuntu version (10.10).

Now, this doesn't mean that my unit isn't failing (I'd be glad to see the back of it, to be honest). However, I found some instructions to upgrade the firmware file on the LinuxTV site for something that shares the same chipset: _WinTV-HVR-4000

A new version of the firmware for the NANLINK WS-TB-1 Transmitter Box is available. Clearly written instructions for installing it are provided below. The WS-TB-1 allows you to control any Nanlite fixture that features 2.4G with the new NANLINK mobile app. This includes the PavoTube 30C and 15C, the Forza 500, the MixPanel 150 and many more.

You are going to need a USB 2.0 drive that you can connect to the USB-C port on the WS-TB-1 in order to carry out this firmware update. Nanlite USA is including a USB 2.0 drive in the box of the WS-TB-1 with the firmware update preloaded onto the included drive. If you received one of these drives with your WS-TB-1, you don't need to download the firmware and load it on to the drive. You can skip right to the numbered instructions below.

The file that you download from that link will be zipped. You first need to unzip it. Then you need to move the file named WS_TB_1_FW_V1.00.06.upd to your USB 2.0 drive. Do not keep any other files on the drive when you carry out the firmware update, only the "upd" file that you downloaded.

It's a new box, and now it is starting on another new box we have in the house. I don't get why all the firmware updates. I will try and power off the box and power back on and see if that helps. But since another new box, in my house, is doing the same thing I don't see how this will help. But I will try.

Hi Jaleesa, it was not that I traded out the boxes because of the firmware problem. I traded in old boxes and then about 2 months later the firmware started on the new boxes for some reason, and the updates are almost every day and right when you are watching something. All was fine on the old boxes, but the new boxes just keep updating firmware for some reason. I did not change out the new ones for anything, I have only had them for 2 or 3 months now and they replaced really old boxes we had.

This box comes preinstalled with a firmware from cellc black which is a paid subscription service in south africa. I however do not wish to use it for the subscription service, but would like to use it for kodi.

Your Shellfire Box will be reset back to its original state, just like you received it, except that it will be running the new firmware. If you have not made any changes in the advanced user interface, your Shellfire Box will work just fine after the update. If there is any custom setting you want to preserve, we recommend writing it down and then setting it up the same way after the reset. The underlying OpenWRT LuCI user interface has not changed dramatically. Not sure if you are ready to update? Contact us!

I have connection box (6AV2 125-2AE23-0AX0) delivered with firmware V5.4. In HW config the "change firmware version" button is not available, and the default version is V5.2. The newest gsdml alredy installed, and I found the description of V5.4 in that. This difference causes a device error.

TIA Portal will (if you configure the PLC to operate with compatible if not identical modules) work with newer firmware devices. They will not take advantage of the newer features of the new firmware but will work as if you had the firmware configured in the PLC hardware configuration of the project.

The software in your dvr is already whatever att last pushed to it. Similarly for the gateway (although you can force it to re-install it's firmware by pushing the red button on the back for about 10 secs. - and losing any settings you may have made to it in the process). Try just rebooting your gateway (pull plug for 15 secs. and let it fully reboot) and after the dvr again (pull plug for 15 secs.).
