Just like everyone else in this post r/galaxynote10/comments/14pexx3/s_pen_wont_connect/ my spen won't connect. I'm running out of ideas but I think it might have to with the Air command version. How do I change it?

Hi, I've developed an application using a stylus (e.g., Samsung pen).As you know, when we click a button on the stylus, "Air command" (pop-up window) appears. My goal is "Overriding the air command into my custom functions"

It was possible in previous note models and tablets to disable the Air command.
On Marshmallow (version 6) there's no such toggle.
To turn off the Air command feature of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (at release):

Some owners reported that air command in Galaxy Note 5 was grayed out. The cause of grayed out Galaxy Note 5 air command is usually due to some accessibility settings (Go to Accessibility and switch on Voice Assistant ?). Actually, when you enabled such accessibility settings, there were the warning message on air command. But most of time, nobody reads it.

None of the above mentionned solution worked for me (Android 9 on Galaxy Tab S3). In particular I didn't succeed to disable Air Command with ADB as hotkey suggests. However this lead me to the next command in ADB shell:

Update: I found a workaround! The air command is only triggered when the pen is hovering over the display, but it is not triggered when the pen is touching the display. I still would prefer to disable it altogether, but it gives some flexibility.

Well im using tab s7+ so it can differ.
This is my screenshot of the spen air action setting, after turn on air action, below have lists of apps. Krita was in the turn off area but i turn it on.
Then dont forget to put your spen to the charging spen place for the spen to connect with the tab so the air action working. Then go to krita setting, for the spen gestures. It works for me thou.

The spen shortcut setting in the configure krita is for spen air action. To make it work u have to go to samsung setting, enable air action and allow air action to be use in krita app. Then any air action gesture in krita such as double click, gesture up, down, etc can be use when spen is a bit far from the screen. Just a bit away from the screen, just not point the spen so close to the screen.

I've been trying to get the most from my S-pen on my brand new S23 Ultra and every video I watch has a little icon on the right side that they click on to bring up the air command menu. Mine does not have it. I have searched the settings multiple times and find numerous options for the S-Pen but not that icon. How in the world do I get that thing on my screen???

While I can manually make a page, and use command palette to insert the drawing, and then select the tool, this is too many steps. To be a worthy substitute, Obsidian must launch ready to draw on a new page (preferably one that is date and timestamped).

So what i want to do is to simply developpe a tool which will allow me to fully use the s-pen and air commande on Windows. I was looking for an API for the s-pen but i only found an API for android mobile phone.

My question is, do you know if they are an API for the spen on windows? or can we add some behavior to the Air Command app? Where can i find the source code of the Air Command app which should normally be open source according to Microsoft Public License?

The Air command menu can also be summoned by tapping the small, circular stylus icon with the tip of the S Pen. This icon, which is visible only when the S Pen is removed, can be relocated anywhere on the screen by dragging and dropping it using the S Pen.

The list of available tools shown inside the Air command menu can be customized but it is restricted to holding only 10 items at a time. You can choose which tools/apps to appear in the list by tapping the cogwheel icon in the lower-left corner of the Air command screen, then tapping Shortcuts.

By default, the complete list of Air command tools should contain: AR Doodle, Bixby Vision, Coloring, Create note, Glance, Live messages, Magnify, PENUP, Screen write, Smart select, Translate, View all notes, and Write on calendar.

These are your main S Pen tools available on the Galaxy Note 10 series out of the box, and you will interact with them the most. What follows is a brief overview of each of these aforementioned features (in alphabetical order), but do keep in mind that additional S Pen functionalities can sometimes crop up when using various other apps or features that don't reside under the Air command umbrella.

Live messages lets you write or doodle with the S Pen on a background of your choosing, such as an image/video from the Gallery, the viewfinder, or a solid/gradient color. Out of all the Air command features listed in this entire summary, Live messages must be the only one to have a rather misleading name.

Speaking of writing on the screen, although Screen off memo is not listed in the Air command menu, it is tied to Samsung Notes so we figured we should mention it nonetheless. Screen off memo allows you to jot down notes on the screen as soon as you remove the S Pen from the slot while the screen is sleeping.

The Galaxy Note 10 is a great smartphone boasting a wide variety of productivity tools, some of which are more useful than others. Keep in mind that the S Pen experience is not limited only to the features listed above, and as mentioned previously, additional S Pen options can crop up in other applications even if they may not show up in the Air command menu. Likewise, there are numerous third-party apps that can take advantage of the S Pen or work well with a stylus, so you can try and improve your Note 10 experience even further.

With air command, you should be able to add app shortcuts. I can add them on my other Samsung devices. When you bring up air command, at the end of the bubbles there should be a gray bubble that says "add shortcut". It should bring up your app list. If you don't see the add shortcut button, try "dragging" the other bubbles up or down. It may be hidden off screen. Mine does this sometimes.

Payment and License:
Is there anyway to trial your App?Unfortunately I haven't in plan to do a trial version because it requires many time and tests and I prefer to spent time to implement new features.
However I guarantee 100% refund the payment within 48h from payment if requested me via email.

How do I pay if I don't have PayPal?Unfortunately I have no other payment method to receive money.
As an alternative you could ask to a friend to manually send me money via PayPal and I'll manually create a License for you.

Is it possible transfer the license from my old device to the new one?Yes, you can link up to 3 devices with the same Licensed Email Address. Anyway if you have already reached the limit you can ask me to reset the list.

Will I loose the License after resetting the phone or installing another ROM?No, the License will persist forever on App's Server.

I want a refundRefunds are accepted within 48h from the payment moment for ANY reason without any problem.
Please avoid to open a PayPal contestation because it makes the refund procedure much longer.
Just write me an email and I'll answer you in few minutes/hours.

The Screen off memo feature is great for taking a note when you're in a hurry, its lack of customization options makes it less than ideal for regular note-taking. That's where the Quick notes feature and Samsung Notes app integration come in. You can take a quick note by selecting the Create note option in the Air command pop-up. This opens a new pop-up window with a blank canvas for notes.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with the Penup app preinstalled, and it seamlessly integrates with the S Pen. Using the Penup option in the Air command window, you can open the app quickly to color line drawings, find drawing tutorials, and much more. The standalone Coloring option in the Air Command menu gives you quick access to the coloring feature in the Penup app.

The S Pen also lets you use Samsung's version of Google Lens: Bixby Vision. The Bixby Vision Air command shortcut lets you quickly perform a search for text or images on your phone's screen. You just have to highlight the relevant section with the S Pen, and Bixby Vision will show search results from the web.

To learn about all S Pen can do, remove the S Pen > select the Air command icon > select the Settings icon, and scroll down to the General section to learn about the S Pen and its features. You can find additional information at the Samsung S Pen page.

From the Air command screen, select Screen write. After the screenshot is captured, you can write or draw on it. Select the Save icon when finished.

With Bluetooth, the S Pen can be used as a remote. Just go to Settings>> Advanced Features>> Spen and open Air commands. Now assign long press action to an S Pen feature that you frequently use or an App that you frequently use with your S Pen.

By default, removing the S Pen from its silo will open the Air command menu, a series of shortcuts that likely relate to things you'll want to do with the S Pen. You can customize these, which we'll get to later.

The Air command menu lets you decide between the large default menu that shows the selected app and function icons and their names in text, or a smaller toolbar that just has the icons. Here, you can also change which shortcuts are available, whether the Air command icon (the translucent pencil in a circle, highlighted) stays on screen when you're not using it, and whether tapping the S Pen's button once brings up the Air command menu.
