Hi everyone,

We're back from South by Southwest (see http://forum.wrsi.com for my
posts about that great trip) and now we're just a few days away from
the River's Meltdown! This Saturday from 10-4 at JFK Middle School,
free!

I've posted a ton of stuff about the event on the WRSI site here:

http://wrsi.com/pages/3890016.php

And the Valley Advocate this week has a nice cover story about us and
kids' music and the Meltdown:

http://www.valleyadvocate.com/article.cfm?aid=9409

About that Meltdown...

Great music -- Nields, Deedle Deedle Dees, School for the Dead, Uncle
Rock, Ratboy Jr., Maria Sangiolo, Aric Bieganek, Dennis Caraher, Laura
Cayer, Mucho Gusto Spanish, Marcy Gregoire, and Mariana Iranzi!

Great readings -- Jarrett Krosoczka, Jane Yolen, Timothy Basil Ering,
Anna Alter, and story time with River DJs!

Great activities -- felt making, candle dipping, climbing wall, and
more!

Great food -- Cup & Top Cafe, Chandler's, and more!

Great demonstrations and events -- lambs from Red Gate Farm, trapeze
demonstrations, crafts and more!

Great vendors -- local schools, camps, toy stores, book stores, and
more!

It's all free! Saturday, March 28, 10 am to 4 pm, music and readings
all day long. JFK Middle School. Presented by Yankee Candle Village
and 93.9 The River.

Other stuff coming up:

Friday night, MEF is showing a cool film about excessive marketing to
kids. Read more at Hilltown Families: http://hilltownfamilies.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/consumingkids/

Saturday night, you can go see Bill Harley in Greenfield. Again, HF
has details and some tickets to give away:
http://hilltownfamilies.wordpress.com/2009/03/11/contest-22/ (but you
have to enter the drawing today!)

A little farther out, the Hilltown Cooperative Charter School is
having an auction on Friday, April 11 at the Williamsburg Grange in
Williamsburg.

And we've got a bunch of other shows that we're almost ready to
announce...but not quite. Stay tuned. And listen to the show this
Saturday (8-10 AM on the River, 7-9 on VFR) to hear Mariana Iranzi's
fun in-studio!
