Hey gang,
I talked with one of our hosts in Hartford, Jen Roach, yesterday and worked out some details. We are going down to visit Summer of Solutions Hartford.
They are focusing on food justice in the city of Hartford, and their big project has been creating an urban garden on Zion Street. This week they are running a summer camp at the garden and a community center, so we will get to hang out with the kids Friday.
This is a cool chance to see what Summer of Solutions is like elsewhere, we're lucky we're so close by!
Here's the plan---
1. leave Turners after Kids Gardening at 10am.
2. Pick up Duncan in G'field
3. Head down Route 91. If anyone wants a ride from NoHo we should be able to do that (but if we go beyond 7 people, we'll need a second car so please RSVP!).
4. Arrive around 11:30/noon at the garden (570 Zion St)
5. Hang out til we want to head back
I also heard a rumor there is a potluck/talent show/camp-out Friday night at Sachem's Head. Get ready!
