No experience is more uniquely San Francisco than a ride on a cable car. Cable cars have come to symbolize our great city (along with another world-renowned transportation icon. Hint: it's a suspension bridge painted an International Orange color.) After all, we're the city that first launched cars pulled along by cables running beneath the street.
It's easy to find and board a cable car. Choose from three cable car lines - two start at Powell and Market and continue to the Fisherman's Wharf area; one starts at California and Market and continues to Van Ness Avenue. Board at the cable car turntables (the beginning or end of each route) or look for the brown-and-white cable car sign post.
When you hop aboard these rolling landmarks you are climbing hills the same way San Franciscans did in the 1870s. Learn more about their early SF days, read our History of the Cable Car or visit the Cable Car Museum.

Our client received two Palo Alto units, including an HSCI cable. However, they noticed that the HSCI cable is not functioning. When they connect it to the HSCI port, the LED port does not light up. However, when using a normal SFP with fiber, there is no problem. Is there any solution that can help us, or should they proceed with the RMA process?
What PAN-OS version? I'm not positive, but I thought there might have been a bug regarding HSCI. The specifics about the bug I don't really recall, but if we know the PAN-OS version the known issues can be looked at to see if there's a matching bug.
I have PA 3410 which is running 11.0.3 when we check DAC on HSCI port and data port is not working port not blinking but its detected when we run show command on CLI (vendor-name: Amphenol ,
vendor-part-number: NDCCDD-0005). but normal Fiber cable is working for both port light are blinking. Kindly advise.
You can see my recent post it looks like there's a published bug specifically for the 1400 series. So at face value it shouldn't effect the 3400, but anytime a vendor says it "only effects "X" hardware type" I get a little suspicious that maybe other hardware version could still be impacted.
I know this thread is a couple years old, but I was facing the same issue and I figured it out. First off, we had bought some cheap USB-to-RJ45 serial cables on Amazon that all worked fine with our Raritan SX II console servers. Set the baud rate to 115200 and it all worked great. So there is that.
In our last batch of switches we bought the genuine HPE R8Z87A cables, thinking it would be a more reliable, supported solution going forward. Upon plugging them in, though, I got nothing. Plug in the cheap cable, works fine. I went in to the port configuration in the Raritan and change "Equipment Type" to "Force DCE" and then it started working. Apparently, if the end device also supports auto-detection of hardware type then the Raritan's auto-detection won't work. My theory is that the cheap Amazon cables are far more basic and don't pass the auto-detection command from the switch.
Hi everyone! I have been trying to find a way to do this without creating a new idea, but I have decided to make it an official 'Idea' to see if there is anyone else that might appreciate a feature like this (or has found there own way to do it!)
While I understand this is an extremely niche issue, in my experience, it can become very difficult to trace the data through unmanaged lines in large workflows. I think it will be great to cable manage canvas lines so workflows are easier to follow. Heck, while I am already at it, I think it we should all start calling these canvas lines cables... They don't carry electricity, but they sure do carry data!
I'd love something like that. I miss something like a button that reorganize the workflow for you to be more clear about the connections. That is something common for database tools to show their Entity-Relationship diagrams.
I particularly like much to use the wireless connection for large workflows, but you need to use carefully to don't start to be harder to understand the workflow due to you don't see very clearly many lines.

As far as I remember, my thinking at the time was: "my bike's not that expensive or desirable, so a thief won't be too interested in it". And also: "the shop wouldn't be selling these locks if they're not reasonably secure".
Here are three videos of real thieves stealing bikes secured with cable locks. Of course: any lock can be beaten with the right tools and enough time. But notice how easy it is for the thieves if we use one of these locks.
But those thin strands are also what makes a these locks inherently insecure. Because they can be cut very easily with cable cutters of bolt croppers. These tools simply chew through the cables one by one.
The most important thing is not to use one of these locks as your primary means of security. And by "primary security", I mean the lock that secures your bike frame to an immovable object in the street (or at home).
These secondary locks sometimes take the form of thin cable lassos, which are sold together with a primary u-lock. And they can only be used with another lock (because they don't have a locking mechanism themselves).
What's more, I don't find them very easy to use. They're long and unwieldy. So they're difficult to carry around. They can be difficult to get around your bike when you lock up. And difficult to un-tangle from your bike when you leave.
I would still bet you a large amount of money that if we left 4 identical bikes in a bike rack, one unsecured, one locked with a cable, one with a ulock and the last with a chain, the unsecured would be stolen first, and the cable locked bike would be stolen second. ?
