In times when family income is tight and no job is secure, everyone should be thinking of ways to augment our limited financial resources.
One way to “instantly” have money to save even without increasing your income, is to cut down on your expenses. A few pesos saved here and there will add to several hundred pesos (even thousands) every month.
Unfortunately, when your income is barely enough to support your needs, there’s not much reduction of expenses you can do. The good news is there are many ways that you can boost your family income and it’s not just having your own business. Here are some of your options:
1. Get paid more at work by working overtime. You can also improve on your skills and be more responsible and reliable at work so you can be considered for a promotion, which usually includes a pay raise. To learn new skills and acquire new knowledge attend trainings & seminars even if you have to pay for it yourself. If you don’t want to spend, turn to the internet. Almost anything you want to know is available in the internet for free.
2. Transfer to a higher paying job or change careers. If you feel you are stuck in a dead end job with little opportunity for career & financial growth, consider moving to another job or shifting to another field. You will have be at your best and have a better chance of succeeding if you do something you really love instead of doing what you went to school for.
3. Get a part-time job or have a part-time business. Manage your time well so that you can have an extra 10-12 hours every week that you can use to work on a part-time job or run a part-time business. Consider working on something that you love doing. You also don’t need a big capital to start a business. Small businesses that offer services which make use of your special skills like tutoring or coaching do not require huge amounts to start.
There are hundreds of ways to boost your family’s income. The key is to find one that will work for you. So start your search for that ideal extra income opportunity now and once you find it, give it your utmost commitment.
