Call for First Meeting / Tryout Games

Everyone is invited to join the first Pinoy Gridiron Meeting (EB) and
tryouts. Details are as follows:

Starmall Alabang Sports Center (3rd floor Basketball Courts)
Saturday, December 6, 2008
8 - 11 AM
Come in regular rubber shoes (no cleats), shorts and bring a white and
a colored shirt
(Please bring Php50.00 only to help cover cost for the venue)


This is our chance to meet one another for the first time and get to
actually play, kahit 4-on-4 lang (it would depend on how many we are).

I tried to secure a better venue but because of the holiday season,
most playing fields are booked. So, pasensya na muna kung basketball
court lang tayo sa ngayon.

For the first 2 hours, we will have some physical tryouts to help
determine which position you are suited, and after a short
orientation, we will play 4-on-4 (or 5-on-5, whatever) touch football
to give you a feel of the game.
Afterwards, we will have discussions on the formation of the league,
regular games and other matters.

Bring your friends. (Yule, hakutin mo na barkada mo!) It is okay even
if they don't know how to play. This will be a first for all of us.
Let us make the most of this and enjoy playing the game.

PLEASE reply to this post to confirm your attendance. I need a head
count so I can finalize arrangements with the venue. Thanks and see

What if we move the time to 2-4 PM instead of 8-11 AM?
I'm hoping to start this, get the ball rolling and set regular
schedules.

Paki vote na lang. I need to finalize this by tomorrow before lunch. I
need at least 8 confirmations please. Otherwise, we will have to move
this again next weekend.

Choose either just one or both schedules according to your
availability.

Next EB natin is December 13 bali next saturday.. bali needed natin ng venue na mapag prarpactisan..

I tried to get an available field for our event but because of the
holidays, wala talaga akong makuhang lugar na babagay.

We can push through with this on Saturday if AT LEAST 8 people will
commit to come, otherwise postpone ulit muna siya for next year.
Please confirm until tomorrow afternoon before 4pm by posting here.

Kung hindi tayo maka-walo na confirmed we cannot push through with the

We did not have the right number of participants for the tryout games
so I will be postponing this event again for another time.

Alam kong naghirap din yung iba na maghanap ng pupunta pero ayaw ko na
gagastos tayo sa biyahe at pagod na hindi naman magiging buo yung
experience natin. But don't worry, we will push through with big plans
for 2009.

Next time our probable venues are Baker's Hall Oval Field sa UP Los
Banos and Cuenca Park at Ayala Alabang. Sila yung pinaka-open na mag-
accommodate ng gagamit ng facilities nila. May mga kausap pa rin ako
sa iba't ibang schools at venues. I'll post them here at the group
later for everyone's information.

Gusto ko sanang matuloy na ito because I wanted to give you guys
something for Christmas. But its not practical na gagastos kayo sa
transpo at venue na mabibitin lang tayong lahat.

So yung gift ko sa inyo ay next time na rin lang. ;)

This is an open invitation to anyone who can come. This Saturday,
December 20 at 9AM I have a meeting with administrators at the Malayan
Colleges of Laguna in Cabuyao (near the Cabuyao exit) concerning the
possibility of developing their football program and regular use of
their open field. We may be able to use their field for an hour or so
as part of the ocular inspection.

So if you are available at that time, please post your availability
and willingness to come. While this may not be a formal tryout game,
this is a great opportunity for everyone who are itching to pass
pigskin around.

I will need a headcount by Friday morning. Paki-post na lang dito
please.
