We have several major plans this year. 2009 is still marked as the
development year for gridiron football in preparation for a
competitive league in 2010.

Sorry muna kung medyo napabayaan ko itong discussion group for the
past weeks. The league organizers have been very busy registering the
organization and preparing for the events that will happen this year.
Huwag sana kayong mag-isip na na-puwera kayong iba na nandito. Yung
proximity lang kasi, medyo hindi ideal para magsama-sama yung grupo na
in-training at itong grupo dito (as in extreme North at extreme South,
patay-patay sa pamasahe pa lang).

If you will notice, the name has been changed from Philippine Gridiron
League to NATIONAL GRIDIRON LEAGUE PILIPINAS. Iyan na ang official SEC
registered name ng liga. We expect the SEC papers to come out this
week or at the latest early next week.

I have also been in contact with external groups who have expressed
support for the league. Kasama dito yung American Sport Education
Program (ASEP) and football's foremost brand name Riddell USA. May mga
local sponsors na rin nakapila. Medyo marami pang trabahong dapat
gawin. So please bear with us.

In terms of activities, ito yung naka-lineup for 2009.

1) Weekend Football Clinics - (by March) - This will culminate in an
inter-batch 7-on-7 Touch Football competition

2) Kick, Punt and Pass Skills Competition - (by May) I think many of
you can join this one even if you don't get to compete on-field as it
is designed to grow as a national skills competition

3) Exhibition Games Tour and Team Plantings - (by June) We are
targeting to form 6 to 8 teams in key localities in the country.

My advice is for you guys to START FORMING YOUR TEAMS. If you are
college based, setup a campus football club or else form a community
football club. Kahit magsimula lang kayo sa anim, that's already good
for 3-on-3 scrimmages. Elect your officers, setup your venue and
regular practices and send your club information to the league. We can
certify your club as an associate member of the league and help you
get support in your campus or area. As associate members, you can also
receive training and other forms of support as league resources would
allow.

Watch out for info here on trainings or scrimmages in your area.

ba siyang connections about sa kanila.

This is great news Rhyl!

Keep me posted on this cotabato and cdo teams. If Mindanao can start a
regional league that will be awesome. Otherwise, we can always
accommodate teams from there also. Madugo lang sa logistics dahil
malayo pero puedeng puede ma-justify yung support.

Yung unang intention ng National Gridiron League Pilipinas was to
plant teams sa mga regions. We are looking at having 6-10 teams
nationwide for the start of the 2010 competitive season. What we
imagine was as the number of teams multiply we can setup regional
divisions like Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao Conferences. Conference
winners will then battle it out for the national championships.

So if Mindanao can grow a league already, you can expect to have the
support of the NGL. The more we are able to show our numbers, the more
support we can get from sponsors and media partners.

Rhyl, help me get in touch with the organizers there. Thanks and keep
up the good work.

Re: Age Brackets

As of the current players development program, the following are the
proposed age divisions to be enforced:

Seniors - 19 and above
Juniors - 13 to 18 (KPP and Touch Football programs only)
Minors - 7 to 12 (eligible for Kick, Punt, Pass Programs only)
