Share some interesting stuff about football here (put in your
reference link too if available).
For example:

The technical term for the shape of the football is "prolate
spheroid".

That gridiron football was conceptualized originally to be played on a
criss-cross grid. The ball was spotted on the grid box where the
previous play's down stopped. This was since replaced by the yard
lines + hash marks system.

Here's a picture of an old gridiron field -

The Arizona Cardinals, the oldest professional football team and
charter member of the NFL, started as an informal neighborhood
gathering that just wanted to play football. They then organized
themselves as the Morgan Atheltic Club. They have been playing
football now for over 100 years. :)

Before 1898, a touchdown scored four points. It was then changed to
five points.

A field goal was previously five points but it was lowered to four
points in 1904.

By 1909 the field goal was dropped to three points. It was not until
1912 that a touchdown was raised to 6 points.

This sets the points system still in use today.

Off the top of my head:

Two point conversion came in around mid nineties (NFL) .College seems to have had it forever.

Every conversion is "live" till ruled dead. (Again around mid nineties) . Meaning a blocked extra point can be advanced to either end zone  for two points for the appropriate team if ball remains in the field of play.

Right now, Eugene Amano is playing Right Guard and doing a very good
job as part of the starting offensive linesmen.

By the way the Titans are the only undefeated team so far this season
in the NFL at 8-0. (Puera usog!!!)
