Can anyone comment on the performance differences for upgrading to:

1. Pinnacle Pro Server (Oracle SunFire X4170 M2 w/ 144GB of RAM) vs
2. Pinnacle Smart Enterprise (Oracle Sun Server X3-2, 166 GB RAM)

For a site that might be running 12 VMAT plans on 4 hosts simultaneously.

Is a 10GB backbone helpful?  The hardware does include 10Gps ethernet ports.

Thanks,

Maybe - the 10gb network will enable a much larger throughput of data, if it's needed.  On the Enterprise system the file system servers would be moving data to the App servers through the nic, so one might see some speed increases there.  On the Professional all data transfers happen on the internal bus structure therefore nic throughput won't appreciably alter your timelines.  The 10gb nics are really future-proofing.
