Capturing ROI contouring duration

Hi Group

I'd like to capture actual outlining time, programmatically.  I know I could give people stopwatches, but I'm concerned they may forget to start/stop them eg when interrupted.  The purpose here is to compare time saved using autocontouring versus manual contouring, so I don't want my data fudged by people talking on the phone.

I've had a look at some widgets, but most ROI stuff is x11 format and I can't work out what it's doing.  

Has anyone done this, or got any idea how it could be done?
