DRR DICOM export

Hello,

we have a problem with DRR DICOM export from Pinnacle (9.2 or 9.8) to the Elekta iView: during export Pinnacle shows a message stating that the RTPlan export is not supported.

The Pinnacle system (Experts) is correctly mapped on the network: indeed, from the Expert system we could DICOM export the DRRs to another (Elekta) Linac iView.

Have you ever faced this scenario?

Any suggestions?

Hi Martjin,

 

On your iView workstation look at the file C:\iView\Merge\MergeComm.APP. This can be examined in Notepad as it is a text file. (Depending on your arrangements with Elekta, you should possibly involve an Elekta rep.)

 

Some way down the file you should find a section that starts:

 

[IVIEWSCP]

…

…

SERVICE_LIST  …………

 

Following “SERVICE_LIST” (on the same line) there are a few options, the default (I think) is “Storage_Only_Service_List”, This means that iView will only accept a couple of different DICOM objects (SOP Classes).

 

If you want iView to accept RTPLANs (although it can’t use them) and RTIMAGEs (Pinnacle DRRs), you need to replace “Storage_Only_Service_List” with “iView_SCP_Service_List_Extended”. (I think that’s correct but I am not in front of the iView workstation now. If you scroll further down the file, you will find the correct phrase with the list of object types (SOP classes) that the list includes.)

 

Save the edited file, keeping a copy of the original (just in case). Restart the iView workstation. (I am not sure whether this is necessary, but may be).

 

I think that this will solve your problem.

Hi Martjin:

 

We simply send DRRs as flat file through DICOM print, setting the IVIEW as a print destination.

 

We did not have to reconfigure either the Sri.ini or MergeApp.com files to make this work. 

If you need me to send my configuration , I can later, just let me know.

Please check Iview workstation setting.

 

As I know,Elekta should add pinnacle IP address to iview’s hosts file.

Maybe ivew dicom service also should have correct configed for Dicom filter.
