For some reason the MIP generated with MIM software is considered a 0% phase in Pinnacle.

The original 4DCT is from a 2015 Siemens Biograph PET-CT scan.

I use MIM software to generate the MIP since Siemens doesn't create MIPs?????

And Pinnacle identifies the MIP as Phase : 0%.

Both MIM and Pinnacle support don't know why this is happening? Anyone can help?

I recently had a big run-around with Pinnacle on something similar (our phase-binned data set cine loop was playing out of order). Here's the deal:

Pinnacle (at least v9.8) reads the ScanOptions DICOM header tag (0018,0022) to determine that a secondary data set is phase-binned and what phase-bin it is. MIM basically uses the DICOM header of the 0% phase bin when creating it's MIP/AIP/MinIP data sets. In order to get Pinnacle to not read the MIP as a phase-binned data set, you need to wipe the ScanOptions tag. The only way I know how to do this is with 3rd party software or in-house code.

We've just acquired 4D capabilities, so the MIP 0% phase thing hasn't become a problem for us, yet. So, I haven't pursued this with MIM, but I'm sure they'd be willing to work with you on it, though.

Hope that helps. If you've come up with another solution, let me know.

It is exactly that. The ScanOptions DICOM header tag  (0018,0022) shouldn't be in the MIP. MIM people are not sure why the tag stays in the MIP dataset when they generate it.

I am still working with MIM to try to fix the problem.

Thanks Jacob.

MIM Software latest release 6.5.6 fixes my problem.

You wouldn't see Pinnacle do that!!!

Couldn't you have edited the dicom header with MIM?

I don't think MIM can edit the ScanOptions tag. It's DICOM header editing options are limited.
