Late PINK FLOYD frontman SYD BARRETT will be honoured
in his hometown of Cambridge, England, with a statue.
The psychedelic rock legend died aged 60 in Cambridge
in July (06) following complications relating to
diabetes. Barrett had been a recluse since leaving the
band in 1968 after suffering an LSD-induced breakdown.
His family have given a local campaign their blessing
to erect a statue in the city, if council officials
approve it.
