Hi, i just recover my old Pinguinos for a workshop, i'm happy to see how this project is growing.

I must to use Pinguino ARDE version with pic18f2550, now i have installed this bootloader4550V2-12.hex (found in an old folder of my computer)
i supose that is identical to this one:
bootloaderV2.12_PIC18Fx550.hex (from pinguino website)

the card is running fine, i just install IDE X.4 and check some samples incluiding CDC... wonderful

My question now is.... what about bootloader 3.00, i install and i cant upload any program to the card and... in IDE configuration i can select bootloader 1.x, 2.x and 4.x... not 3.x... whats the reason?

Thanks.

Don't try to use bootloader3. It has never been operational. But with IDE x4 you can use V2.12 or V4.8. Thru "board select" icon you choice  your installed boot.

thanks...  this answer makes me to be more questions,
¿where can i download V4.8?... if you go to pinguino.cc, click in Downloads and click in Bootloader you get this

http://www.pinguino.cc/download/bootloader/8-bit/

The latest version is V4.2 and nothing says to me that is compatible with 2550.... Is compatible?

thanks again.

There is several means to get bootv4.8.
or try easypack to install a recent IDEx4. Find information on easypack at http://forum.pinguino.cc/.
When the IDE will be installed open the folder extra\bootloaders\8bits to select a fitting boot.

The "extra\bootloaders\8bits" is the solution.... the worse thing is that i can't give pinguino.cc link to my pupils... i'll must specify where to get each thing...

thanks a lot.

Same problem with I/O mapping... ¿where is the schematics for 18F45k50 or 18F26J50?

The I/O mapping for 18F45k50 is the same as for 18f4550.
The I/O mapping for 18F26j50 is the same as for 18f2550 except that pin18 (ref Pinguino numbers) doesn't exist on 18f26j50 (pin Microchip #6 = VDDCORE/VCAP). Refer to the 26j50 datasheet to know exactly each function pin !!!
