I have strange behaviours of the IDE with Linux Mint Debian Edition. The pinguino.log tells me that all is OK.
However:
1. I cannot open files. No files or folders are listen in the open file dialog.
2. Minimizing the window and maximizing again makes the IDE loose all IDE elements (just a grey area is left), only a restart helps.
3. I can select examples via double click from the right panel, but they are not displayed as text. They can be compiled and uploaded with bootloaders 4.14 and 2.12, but only be modified with an external editor and then be reloaded.
4. Not even the tabs of these selected examples are shown in the IDE.
5. I cannot create new files.
6. The board selector works once, sometimes twice, but than appears as grey area.
7. Sometimes the IDE elements are crowded in the left upper corner leaving lots of grey space to the left and bottom.
8. Command line output give no hint of errors in the cases above.

I went back to IDE x.3 and bootloader 2.12 which work perfectly, but I couldn't find a way how to use bootloader 4 with IDE x.3. Is it possible?

Regards,

Sven

I found an old checkout from rev989, which does not seem to have these problems. So I guess something broke on the way to rev996 which I had trouble with.

Here is the rev996's log:

Okay, I've experimented a lot lately with different versions of the IDE and now I'm using the latest checkout rev996 mostly working.
First, I had to do a  "fc-cache -fv" on my system which solved part of the described problems that were related to my system actually.
Second, I deleted older versions of the IDE and the .config file in the x.4/ folder and restarted everything. Could it be that temporary files were mixed up from different versions? Also, the .config contained paths to to the folder of another revision...
