Nick, I think we met once at the ill-fated Green Dragon Games in
Clearwater. I too am a fan of Full Thrust and I am interested in
getting together with you and Will for a game. Will and I have been
friends and gamers for longer than either of us care to admit and
while Will is not currently a FT affictionado, I am sure that a few
games would quickly convert him. I am currently putting the finishing
touches on a massive (30-40 ships, I haven't counted) FSE fleet and
have another NSL fleet of similar size is in the construction phase.
While Will and I are currently not gaming nearly as much as we would
like I think we would both jump at the chance to throw some dice with
you.

Greg,

That sounds great!  Thanks for thinking of me.  FSE, huh?  Nasty salvo missiles -- maybe I can finally learn how to defeat them.  :-)

I'm sure we can convert Will pretty easily.  The system is quite elegant.  I remember the first time I played -- it just felt "right" how the ships moved and fought.

My fleet is based on the 'if it looks cool, buy it" philosophy, so I have everything from Silent Death ships to Babylon 5 to -- well, you name it.  I still love the NAC designs and I have quite a few UN ships, too.  And a not-Firefly which I really need to paint up.

I'm in a horrible job situation right now which is demanding a lot of weekend work.  I'm actively looking for something better.  But I should be able to swing some weekend sometime.  How does Oct 26 sound?  I can probably get away for a Sunday afternoon.

I'll just let them know at work that there's no way I can work that day.  That'll give me time to get my ships out of boxes, too.

Cheers,

Nick

PS -- If you know anyone looking for a Software QA Engineer let me know! :-)

Thanks for the reply Nick,

I am much like yourself in regards to spaceship models. They are all
eye candy to me. That's one of the things I like about Full Thrust.
I can take any starship model and design an SSD to suit it. I have
ships from all different genres. Star Trek, Star Wars, BSG, Buck
Rogers, Babylon 5, Noble Armada, Battlefleet Gothic..... etc., etc. I
collect and paint them for my own satisfaction. I even do some
scratch building when the mood strikes.

As for a game on the 26th I'll have to get with Will. We normally
meet on Saturdays so I'll have to see if he wants to move to Sunday
for that weekend. We could start early and finish early. I'll shoot
him an email now.

I'll keep my eyes open for any QA Engineer positions. I myself am an
IT professional working in a medical Oncology practice. I'm also a
medical technician. The two mesh well together. The hospitals I work
out of are looking for software people from time to time. If I see
anything I will let you know.

Sounds like fun to me! I Actually Full thrust is one of my favorite rulesets. In fact I have a real nice BSG mod for Full thrust and all the ships to go with it. Anytime you want to play just let us know. Unfortunately I have plans for the 26th.

Alright then......... seems like we have the beginnings of a scheduled
Full Thrust game. Can you pick another Sunday Nick? Or better yet, a
Saturday?

Let's try for November 1?

I'd love to try the BSG mod!   Shall we plan on that?

OK. Will, you up fo some Full Thrust weekend after next? I could
host. We could either try your BSG mod, or play one of the scenarios
available on the web.

Sure, sounds fun! Tell you what, you host and run whatever. I will show up
and roll dice!

Sounds like a plan. Nick, since Will just wants to show up and throw
dice I guess it will be up to you and I to come up with a scenario.
Send me an email and we will coordinate. (gbie...@tampabay.rr.com)

Game is on for 11/01/08 6PM at my house!

Well, looks like I will have to throw the monkey wrench in on this
one. I forgot that I have a wedding to attend this Saturday, so I
will be unavailable for gaming this weekend. Can we pick another
date?

Sorry

Just let me know where and when. I know we have that gameday coming up next month so don't schedule it that weekend.

Ditto. :-)   Does the 8th work?  The 15th is bad for me and the 22nd is iffy -- might be possible but I won't know for a week or so (Deployment to production is scheduled then, but I don't think it's going to make it through QA)

I've been so swamped that I haven't been able to even review the rules -- I'll give it a try this weekend playing with my sexy wife.  (That's what she told me to say).   I'll see if I can dig up some old scenarios, too.

I also wouldn't mind playing my AeroNef/Full Thrust conversion -- but not for the first game.

Anyway -- I'll get up to speed and hopefully find another job that gives me a little more free time (although I get paid for the extra hours so at least there's some benefit).

Hey Nick!
The 8th is definitely out unless you want to join us in Tampa. That's the day of the gamesday. Other than that, get with Greg and I will come anytime!

One of these days we will hook up LOL!
