Dear Neighbors,

The Pine Hills Neighborhood Association (PHNA) is partnering with the
anti violence group SNUG <https://www.facebook.com/albany518snug/> to hold
a gathering called "Unite for our Community" Monday at 5 pm at Madison
Park* (see below for location info). We are encouraging neighbors to attend
this event that will give us the opportunity to speak out against gun
violence & to share our ideas, concerns and hopes to strengthen our
community.

*Background: *
The mission of PHNA is to "preserve and improve conditions that make the
Pine Hills Neighborhood a viable and pleasant place to reside, work and
enjoy life." The recent escalation of violence in our neighborhood (not to
mention in other parts of the city, and across the country) is very
upsetting to everyone - it is simply unacceptable. The PHNA Board thought
it would be a good idea to reach out to SNUG and plan this gathering to
give neighbors an opportunity to be together, share thoughts and work
towards solutions to strengthen the fabric of our neighborhood. I hope to
see some of you there.

*Have questions? *Feel free to call, send me a direct email (leah....@gmail.com
or text me (# below).

**Madison Park borders Madison, Ontario and Hamilton Streets.**We will be
gathering within the park **closer to Hamilton Street than to Madison Ave.
Note: at the current time, the weather forecast for Monday is not looking
great so if you want to attend and want to stay informed of rain plan
updates, feel free to text me or check my Twitter
<https://twitter.com/leahgolby> account after 3:30pm on Monday to learn the
final plan. *

Due to the weather, tonight's "Unite for our Community" event (Monday, 10/17/2022) at 5 pm will move to St. Vincent's Church at  900 Madison Ave. in the Sanctuary.  There is disability access via the back of the church.   Please help spread the word.

Hope to see you there!
