Upcoming PHNA & MPHC Meetings & Seeking New Chair

[Midtown Pine Hills Committee]

Hi all,

Below is information about the January Pine Hills Neighborhood Association (PHNA) and Midtown Pine Hills Committee (MPHC) meetings:

• PHNA on Thursday, January 19th at 7pm at the Pine Hills Library (517 Western Ave). Our speaker will be Dr. Dorcey Applyrs, Chief City Auditor for the City of Albany.   Dr. Applyrs will talk about the Office of Audit and Control, <https://www.albanyny.gov/318/Office-of-Audit-Control> including various
  audits and initiatives she is working on. For example, in 2022, the Office initiated the City of Albany Equity Audit
  <https://www.albanyny.gov/DocumentCenter/View/6902/Equity-Audit-Scope-of-Work>. Dr. Applyrs would also like to hear your ideas for future audits.
   
  NOTE:  PHNA is no longer able to offer participation via Zoom for our meetings. However, a video recording will be available shortly after the meeting on our website <https://www.pinehillsna.org/videos>.

• MPHC on Monday, January 23rd at 6:30pm on Zoom - if you are interested in participating and have not already received a Zoom link from me, please contact me at PHIGPi...@gmail.com.   We will begin our discussions about a spring community dinner, a fall event, and an art project in earnest this month; plus we will share updates.

Also, after over 9 years, I will be stepping back from my position chairing the Midtown Pine Hills Committee as of June 30, 2023; though I will remain on the Board of PHNA and involved with the MPHC.  MPHC will need a new chair as of the end of June.  If you or someone you know is interested in helping out, please reach out to me at PHIGPi...@gmail.com for details.  While it would help if the new chair lives in Midtown Pine HIlls (bounded by Lake, Washington, Myrtle, and Main), having a familiarity and appreciation for the neighborhood is equally important.  I will of course provide assistance and support with the transition.
