I just received this sad news from Mark Rabe. His brother, a hang gliding legend, Mike Rabe, passed away yesterday. 

I'm deeply saddened to convey the heartbreaking news that the hang gliding legend, Mike Rabe, has passed away. Mike's journey came to an end just before he could celebrate his 73rd birthday.

For those who may not have had the privilege of knowing Mike, he was a true legend in the world of hang gliding, particularly in Oregon. During his early years in the hang gliding community, he achieved remarkable feats, setting XC records in Oregon and even Owen's Valley at one time. 

His passion for the sport was unparalleled, and his achievements were an inspiration to all who knew him.

His legacy is one that will live on in the hearts and memories of those who had the honor of crossing paths with him.
