Pilots,

I just talked to Owen at the Bend Forest Service office.

He said they are hoping we will have access in 2 weeks or so.

The plan is to put an underground power line up to the Observatory. They supposedly started trenching from the top on 6-29. After they get past the upper intersection with the 100 road he thought they plan to move the barriers at the cattle crossing Steve Wright saw so we could head up the road toward Antelope and turn up the 100 road to bypass the lower work on the 2017 road.

It sounds like they are on it!

Cool, thanks for the update Scott. I've never flown the antelope launch.  Looking forward to flyinh Pine this summer more.

What my Email was describing was a bypass around the 2017 Road to make it to our turn off to the west launch. But yes, Antelope could be fun too although that launch burned in the fire still should be launchable.

I called back and talked to Owen at the forest service to ask if there's any chance they could run a dozer up and clean up the road to launch from the gate up.

He didn't sound overly encouraging, but he was going to check and see if they could do that while they have the equipment there. That he would get back to me.

Thanks Scott,

Brilliant idea and request. Thanks for pondering the possibilities.

Hoping Owen is able to make that happen.
