just wondering if the creation of a user/support forum is on the
agenda
yeah - i know this google groups does something similar - but they
don't really help the 'casual' user who is interested in just one
specif topic
options:
1 - no sweat option
-- use nabble.com for the forum
-- very easy to setup, works great and no theming required
-- refer: http://susestudio.com/forum/ and others
2 - delicious option
-- ie use vanilla and theme to match pinboard.in
3 - other
-- use punbb and theme to match pinboard.in
if your interested i'm more than happy to setup/theme/etc.. whatever
option is decided is best
Cheers

Right now, we encourage people to post to this discussion group with
feature requests or general ideas, and to email me or Peter directly
if they encounter bugs. We try to respond quickly to email and also
monitor IRC and Twitter throughout the day and try to get on top of
issues that way.
Basically, Pinboard is a small service and we have the luxury of being
able to offer support directly when problems crop up, rather than
shepherding people into a forum. I am a reluctant to introduce more
friction into this process, which I believe has been working well.
But I'm curious to hear what other people think.
cheers

From my perspective, you're remarkably successful at support this
way! :)

As a user who wants to follow along and chime in, a Google Group is
ideal. Everything's in one place, easy to check. The traffic is low
enough that I can follow posting summaries (automatically emailed to
me regularly). And I'm not intimidated to chime in with my own
suggestions.
We're not liable to hear from many who DON'T find this method helpful.
"Only members can post" does mean that people have to nominally sign
up to post. (Unfortunately unmoderated groups with open posting get
tons of spam so I don't see a good alternative.)
For what it's worth, I'd like discussion to stay as-is, on the list.
