I generally aim for 4 to 5 descriptive tags, PLUS I have a standard
set of four tags I add.

The standard four tags include year bookmarked, type of domain
(ie .com , .gov , .edu etc) , domain name (eg
https://pinboard.in/u:philippe3000/t:www.google.com/) and server
location (as a proxy for which country the website mainly relates to).

I also have a standard naming scheme for some of my tags. Eg for wine
(https://pinboard.in/u:philippe3000/t:wine/) I’ll have the vintage,
vineyard, year, region etc. For recipes (https://pinboard.in/
u:philippe3000/t:recipes/) I’ll have the ingredients plus prep time.
(As a side note, I do miss being able to use delicious for recipes
since many others used this scheme).

So all in all, the more tags the better, but if you have a consistent
scheme it makes them even more useful :-)
