A lot of current discussion in Moodle is revolving around streaming
media. GoogleTalk and Skype APIs are a thought. Plugins for
different formats and such.

"Audio recording performed server-side requires Java to run on the
server." came through on one of the forums and I couldn't refute it
although flash came to mind. Then I was wondering what capabilities
that Django has for streaming uploads and such. I found:

Something like this would be an important feature as the door has been
opened specifically for streaming video and video archive in my
potential local use case.

We should support a choice variety of video technology even in the toy
version?

I would think it definitely out-of-scope for the toy version but
you've raised a point that helps my argument from my previous post:
this problem is broader than just LMS so it should be solved
generically (for Django / Pinax in general) whether initially
motivation by the LMS and shared with other projects or vice versa.
