Hello folks,
I just randomly received a phone call from the BBC. They would like to put our Carpark Bike Polo on the local news, and they'd like to come down this Wednesday to film us and interview folks for the piece.

Does this plan all sound fine by people and if so who can make it ??

It'll probably rain. Or the flood lights will be turned off. But in
theory sounds cool :)

I love you guys.
So I'll tell them it's going to rain, and the lights will be switched off, and the language will be unbroadcastable....     oh and you're all at different stages in the process of forgetting who I am, any other things to brighten up my day ??

Is this genuinely workable or would it be more productive to try and arrange a weekend daylight practise. Nobody can swear on a Sunday right ??

Well I think there's been enough ppl to play every week for the past
few months so tell them yes (they won't turn up anyway, too busy
filming a cat stuck up a tree while chasing a missing polo ball).

Just so that I understand the lighting situation.
Will the lights be on at Curry's on Wednesday night, because I've already discussed this with them and they said they'd be fine filming by those and Wednesday is a good day for them ??

Dare I say it for the back lash this will cause but here goes - last time I was there the lights were on.....

I completely agree.
And they aren't asking us to do it somewhere all pretty. They want to come down and be witness to what is going down where it happens.

Anyone know the situation on the lights ??
I cycled past the carpark last wednesday at 10.20pm and I swear the lights were on !!!

I can swear any fucking day of the week.  It's part of my goddamn charm.
I think if they want to do a story on Oxford bike polo, they should film it when and where it actually happens - that way (I'm always thinking of publicity) any new people who might be interested, or people who used to play and may have stopped coming because they forgot when and where to go (right, Dan?  :) will know without a shadow of a doubt where to come and play on subsequent Wednesdays.

Lights are fine.  So fine, in fact, that I'm surprised you didn't SEE US PLAYING and come along for a game.  Maybe the loud swearing frightened you off.  Simon was just being pessimistic.  It's what you'd expect from guy with a bright pink bike and smiley face stickers on his mallet.

At least I can keep hold of my mallet.
