Hello all,

Botley road is currently closed due to flooding- and the predictions for tomorrow don't look good.  Wed will be my last chance to play Polo with you until next year, so I would very much like to play.  If anyone has alternative site suggestions, I'm up for them- we can also check Wed morning on the status of Botley.  I hope everyone is OK and no one is too badly flooded...  If so, I'm glad to help where I can.

Best,
M

As of about an hour ago most of the botley road was fine and the car park dry as a bone but suppose to keep rising till tomorrow but I’d say it’d be fine but don’t bank on it

Kind Regards

Angela

Hi de Hi all

Does anyone know how Botley road is today?

My mallet is still trapped by flood water in my shed but I'm prepared
to roll up my trousers and retrieve it for a game this evening.

Perhaps we should try and get to Curry's anyway. Maybe we could
celebrate the street being closed and have a game actually on Botley
road?

Or what about the sports cage at Marston??

I went down there yesterday and today- there's a few large puddles
dotted about but bikes can get through no problem. I suspect it's
closed just to prevent road traffic from getting in the way or
splashing water everywhere.

I'd have though the car park would be safe since it's raised.

Good news: The car park is completely dry.
The not so good(?) news: Botley Road is currently a bit wet:

But it'll probably have gone down by tomorrow, and in any case if you
ride slowly down the middle or on the pavement you can get through
with dry feet.

Botley road is closed, the water is quite deep just by the allotments.
But I'm sure the car park will be fine if you can make it through.

Sounds like its passable on cycle- so I concur we should meet at 830 for
a 9pm game. Sim, can you bring me my bootlegging book and 'Coming home
to eat' please if they are handy?

Best,
~M

Went down at lunchtime. Car park is dry but the road was under a lot of water, so unless it's gone down you might want some alternative footwear to get there.
