Hello All,

It was a good weekend for bike polo. Our sincere thanks go out to the
Oakenden Pedallers from Kent, and the Manchester Dropouts who came down to
play with us. Saturday saw some games between Oxford and Manchester on
South Park, while Sunday saw a three way exhibition on Angel and Greyhound
Meadow. While we never played strictly intercity games, suffice it to say
the genteel folks from the south soundly showed us young upstarts how to
play the game by sound beating any combination of players they encountered
(5-2 and 10-4 for anyone keeping score). Our thanks go to them for coming
up to play and displaying the finest in Bike Polo accoutrements and
teamwork!

Points of Business:
1.) This week we meet at 830pm to play at 9 on Wednesday at Curry's.

2.) We will meet at 130pm to play at 2pm on Sunday at Angel and Greyhound.
If the weather is suspicious text or call me at 07914-697092 or Dan at
07756-858038.

3.) There is bug-building at the Pegasus Theater, Magdalene Road from 10-4
on Saturday and Sunday. This is an exciting project where huge bugs will
be built from bike parts and paraded through the Cowley Road Carnival (The
first Saturday in July). Contact OCW for more info or come on the day. No
experience necessary!

4.) There is polo at the York Bicycle Rally, 23-24 June, and Oxford will be
taking a team (possibly with Manchester). This will fly the 'punk polo'
flag but will play by a slightly more stringent set of rules (don't be
scared, they just formalize all the courtesies we usually show each other).
Feel free to contact Dan (teamke...@hotmail.com) if you are interested.

5.) I've been terribly lax about updating www.pimpmymallet.com. If anyone
who is computer savvy and web-minded wants to take this over I'm happy to
hand off the administrative duties and information. I'll even throw in a
pot of steaming gumbo to sweeten (or savory) up the deal. We also have a
never-updated blog that could use a dedicated blogging team. There is a lot
of potential as we have huge storage (500Mb) and bandwidth (1Gb/month)
allowances.

Best,
Michael
