statically typed nested mutable dictionaries where the syntax is not hell. including basic stuff like oh this is the first time something went into the sub dict so i have to actually create it first bookkeeping hell.

Wow, there a lot of ?s on that page. I always use some sort of update() with default value so there’s no boilerplate code checking if it exists first.
