Especially when it comes to user interface, use cases, user experience; i believe that domain is where our failures are extra evident.

eg The sheer number of tools one uses means that even with the best of our approaches, it is all kind of friction and brick walls at every turn, and the friction is different in every tool.

The gulf between what we want things to do vs. all the ramifications of the underlying complexity that make development so hard: we have not really resolved that, certainly not in some startrek fashion.

i don't think just call-return-is-evil solves it. there have been research attempts over the years (behavior-threads; hierarchical harel state charts; etc.) but nothing has been a sufficiently successful win. things like angular or react address (not fully fux, oh no sir) some "rearranging deck chairs on the titanic" lower level problems.

the way AI doesn't really solve it is also just more hilarious indictment of our species.
