Your language can be pretty great, but if the tooling sucks then it sucks. 

I think tooling actually >> language pragmatically in terms of minimizing how much coding burns up my limited hours alive in this universe. Depressing!

But, worse is better so eg Smalltalk failed to influence strongly enough :-( 

eg right now in VS Code in an Angular project using TypeScript (albeit not overly much) i cannot easily find all call paths using a given API URL.
