the HILARIOUS debacle THAT NEVER STOPS GIVING of trying to define compatible types maybe has never yet been successfully accomplished? well not in day job languages? because if you forgot to encode some semantic issue into your types at all, or did it wrong, then that is a fail. i mean look at speculative execution side channels, in the extreme.
