inevitably somebody will want a form of staged meta programming, and it will be boutique and baroque if your super cool language & ecosystem doesn't support it from the get-go, ie webpack and babel are negative examples vs. some abstract ideal imho. 

i wonder if Racket really truly did a good job on this aspect? tho unfortunately without any actually good static typing story.
