BrowserRouter could figure it out by just looking at the URL. vite.config could use base “./“. Why is it so much work?

fundamentally our software is encumbered with a lot of friction so it is not in general guaranteed to be easy to do things, like change the code much. 

(but, it is very true that we are lucky to live in an era of free code.)
