it was actually worth reading / skimming through quickly, even though
it is too long - just look for the jist of it as/if you read ...
but... architecture & design is hard. i guess. also with type
checking, is hard. games are a lot like UI in that things end up
needing to be reworked a lot to change the data flow & the control
flow, which can lead to a lot of code churn. and bugs if you go the
void* route at all.
