the more abstract and general, the more typing dx goes to heck. 

i prefer strong static but flexible typing, but i have never used a dx for it that isn't crap. it is a bit depressing. 

(eg this random event bus in typescript i am looking st ends up not using any types so is just void* i guess because they couldn't spend the effort / achieve success trying to type it?)
