I have a problem(?) with my first "real" palm application.
With GCC, I want to initalize the categories in the AppInfo record, but
due to the fine ORA-"PalmProgramming" this has to be accomplished with
an App-String-List-Resource not provided by PilRC.
My solution is straight forward and seems to work, but I don't know if
it is "legal".
1) I create an own Database-Info-Record starting with an
AppInfo-structure.
2) I initialize the 16 Strings within the structure with my own
defaults,setting the others to NUL.
3) The "uniqID"-Bytes are set to 1...16. If I skip this code, the
CategoryCreateList()-Call creates vapour.
Well, is it ok to set the IDs this way? Have the IDs any impact on other
codes, IDs, handles or so? Or are these IDs simply used to track
category edits on both sides of the cable?
Any comments or suggestions are highly appreciated!
