After discovering 7 Days to Die last November, I quickly began diving into playing the game with mods. I first began discovering mods on Nexus, but over time I eventually learned about Guppy's Discord channel for 7 Days to Die here and Sphereii's 7D2D mod launcher here. After learning how to play with mods for 7 Days to Die through Nexus, the launcher and the 7 Days to Die forums here, I surprisingly began to create my own mods like the Creature Renaming series, my first major modlet Unnecessarily Beautiful But Immersive (UBBI) and just released modlets on the launcher titled Custom Perks UI Renaming and a standalone, alternate and compatibility version of UBBI designed for an overhaul, exclusively found on the launcher, titled "Gnamod."
While Nexus and Vortex are a powerful tool for the modding community for a multitude of video games like Skyrim, Subnautica, The Wither, Monster Hunter: World, Dark Souls and Stardew Valley amongst so many hundreds of others, mod author, coder and program designer Sphereii created the 7D2D mod launcher because Vortex was not properly optimized to work with 7 Days to Die mods. To this end, he created a website to go alongside the launcher along with a few frequently asked questions.
Now, I've created a guide which provides steps on how to install the 7D2D mod launcher, how to manage/install modlets through the launcher, how to install overhauls like Gnamod, Ravenhearst and War3zuk, and how to install a modlet into an overhaul's "mods" folder post install (like my modlet - UBBI v1.2.7). This is exceptionally helpful even for players who primarily use Nexus Mods and Vortex!

The 7D2D Mod launcher gives an easier method to play your favourite modifications for 7 Days to Die, while keeping them updated automatically for you. It also gives a simple method to explore and locate new modifications.
The latest incarnation of the Mod Launcher is V5, created using Unity UI ToolKit with the purpose of being interoperable with Linux, MacOS, and Windows. Currently, only Linux and Windows is known to operate, whereas MacOS is extremely theoretical today.

The 7D2D Mod launcher (by SphereII - a modder and developer) provides an effortless way to manage your favourite mods for 7 Days to Die, while keeping them updated automatically for you. Mod launcher also provides an easy way to explore and finds new mods. Mod launcher is essentially software that installs, upgrades, and runs 7D2D mods.
In addition to certain default mods that you may already be familiar with, the 7D2D Mod Launcher includes a number of Valmar's excellent mods such as Expansion and Overhaul, CHS and Horde, and mods such as A Clockwork Project, Spider's True Survival mod, and TheRedWolf's SteelMod.
Additionally, in addition to playing the individual modifications, you can also play combination mods, which would consist of a standard mod combined with a prefab kit, such as one from stallionsden's Megacity or Magoli's ComoPack, respectively.
Some of the most thrilling and captivating aspects of using this mod launcher are that it separates mod installations (which prevents conflicts with overhauls, automatically updates the launcher, and enables players to even customize overhauls using an integrated modiet management method.
Darkness Falls is a total overhaul mod, which means KhaineGb has changed large amounts of the XML files on a permanent basis. Not all modlets will be compatible, therefore he thought it might be a good idea to start a list of ones that do work.
The use of SDX has allowed him to add various models and sound effects into the game, but some of these had to be purchased. As such, a Terms of Use is now required so he can properly detail what may and may not be used by other people in their projects. Personal use is fine, but they may not be redistributed. As such, here are the lists of what may and may not be used by other modders.

Robin Hood is a terrible skill. It adds a second round to the bow, but at the cost of an awkward reload time, and the second shot is pretty much always at garbage power coz it will often not let you power it up.
It would be fine if say it loaded two shots, and fired two shots at once, so each time you reload, you could power up without this issue, but as it stands it makes the bow much weaker than it is without this skill.
You now craft your first laser workstation using the portal power supply that you get from the portal that appears in the quest that used to contain the workbench. Just mine the giant portal to get it.
You need to get something item (I totally forgot what the name of the item) in portal at wasteland, the portal is all scattered across the wasteland you have to brake it with laser tool to get the item for the crafting of laser workbench.
so in every world i make the research from hell quest in the quest i have to go to a camp and the camp always spawns lower than the terrain around it and once i get to the bottom floor or what seems to be it teleports me high into the air and everything there i cannot interact with
Is there a similiar mod, or ability to modify this mod to have everything else except demon thingys, because i do not like that idea, but i love skill progression and ability to make different vehicles and forges etc, i just dislike the hell idea of this mod personally
hay it seems on my game i can`t craft the forge. the forge still has a lock although i unlock by reading forge ahead. Dose anyone know is this a bug or that i also have to have the forge and hammer skill in order to unlock and craft the forge
Hey everyone! Can wait to try Darkness falls on Alpha 20. Just wondering if the compo pack is working on Alpha 20. It says in the description it has been added, but then in the game there are only No-CP maps. Do I need to run random gen for that? Would be super super grateful for any info or tips! Thanks in advance good people of apocalypse! ?
Love the mod, but please fix where demonic zombies can hit you multiple floors up through POI floors. We are trying to complete the laser workbench POI but being burned and blasted from lower floors is to the point where we cannot complete the encounter.
Hello! just started a multiplayer server with my friends, all seems to run greate! but, when we first loggin, we do not spawn with the backpack for the class book, so i am assuming i have done something wrong? is it a common bug or should i look more into it?
Is there a standalone mod to add in all of the non special zombies? My group of friends isnt ready for the crazy that this mod offers but adding in just the new zombie types should help them get better and get ready to fully use this mod later.
What is SDX, I cant seam to find SDX which has 3 folders. You say these are needed for your mod. The only SDX i can find Seams to be a mod Launcher Which i did fiddle with. BUT it had an error when trying to create. Can you please clarify what exactly this is and where to find the 3 files? Please? Thanks. Mod looks very cool. Ive been wanting to try it. BUT Cant find these files.
new notice. i randomly go frrom 79 hunger to 2. and ive been wondering why ive been randomly dying all the time. hope this is a bug and im assuming 0 hunger in this mod is instant death rather than trickle health?
Sorcery does not work with this mod. at least when i set it up. sorcery is enabled but you cant loot the sorcerers to start sorcery quests you just get command line errors when trying to loot them. also ive found that lootable zombies mod does work si far
I tried this mod with a friend and we got really long loading screens, we played it in the 19.5 version . My friend got 15-20 minutes of loading time, we both have decent computers and internet connection and the game is a legit version from steam. For some reason the loading time was really big , for me was about 8-9 minutes. Anyone can tell me what could cause this long loading time? we used 75 for the max zombies alive and the world was 61726172
my game version is 19.2 b3 and when I installed darkness falls it changed it to 19.4 b3 and when loading the world it gives an error. ressource.assets corrupted delete the file and restart unity.
Can anybody help?
Hey Guys i have a question for anyone thats knowledgeable on the subject. Im aware that this mod takes away the input slots and values stored on furnaces/forges. Does anyone know if it is possible to revert that change and keep the rest of the mod, as in editing .Xml files? Any help is appreciated thanks!
