Subject: Re: April Retreat
I like Kelleys idea! We haven't gone out to dinner or drinks since I can't even remember and that takes the pressure off the host. But if we still want the camping vibe I'm down for that too!
Sent from my iPhoneI can bring whatever! Since we are staying local I just plan to hang out Friday night and sleep at my apartment so I can wake up Saturday and get an early AM bike ride in.If finding a place to hang since we all have roommates is a challenge, maybe all go out to eat or something? Drinks at at casual spot?
Sent from my iPhoneI wish I could offer up my home, but my roomie isn't feeling well and so she will be at home resting. What do we want to do for dinner/snacks/breakfast?I guess it would help to figure out who would be in for those things and I can offer up some options :)A. Pizza (a classic option)B. Delicious home cooked healthy meal where Lisa is the head chef and we are her su chefsC. YOYO (as my mom calls it: your on your own)I say, regardless, each person brings a favorite snack and their tent supplies.Breakfast: maybe we hit up a local breakfast joint like Ihop (I hear their coffee is great). Now let's respond to email and get this finalized :)
Much love and CAN'T WAIT!

Sent from my iPhoneI say if it's a no go bc of rain we build a fort and have pillow talk ;) I can see if the victor will be available. But regardless we should all try and reserve Friday night to hang out! Those are thoughts anyways!
Sent from my iPhoneWas just looking ahead at the forecast, are we still venturing out regardless of rain? Or whats the rain plan?

Sent from my iPhoneAlso, I forgot to mention that we have decided on a campsite: Cedar Hill State Park, which is only 30 mins away (extremely conducive to flexible schedules)!

Sent from my iPhoneOkay guys, getting super stoked as our retreat approaches! So I am debating between a few places and want your input.1. Cedar Hill State Park - 30 mins away2. Ray Roberts Lake State Park - 1 hour away3. Dinosaur Valley State Park - 1.5 hours awayWhat are your thoughts??

GastroenterologyChildren's Medical Center of DallasI think I should be good for both nights but maybe just Friday night depending on what shift I have for our transplant reunion that Sunday. So yes, the closer to Dallas the better.

I am down for last weekend in April! And some place within an hour away like Kaelyn mentioned!
Sent from my iPhoneI am in for the last weekend of April! I can do one or both days for the weekend!
Sent from my iPhoneBecca - thank you for coordinating this! My vote is that we go somewhere close (say no more than an hour out) so that people can come as go as they please. If Friday works best for most people, maybe we can do just one night and one full day? I’d be good with two nights, but also use my weekends to catch up on errands and life things. I get if the idea of camping causing anxiety or a general feeling of discomfort, but let me draw a picture of the type of camping I like... All of us sitting under a blanket of stars, eating smores, sharing stories and waking up to the sun rise, much quiet time, but also a good opportunity for us to hang out with each other. Also, this will be a judgment free camping trip so air mattresses, mattresses, pillows, ordering in pizza is totally welcome. So many fun memories come from camping! For those that are bathroom shy, we can be sure to camp close to a restroom.
Let's get a number count of who would be interested and who can go the last weekend of March (also note if you can come Friday, Saturday or both).
I’ll start: I am interested and can go that weekend Friday and or Saturday night!
Let’s get this planning rolling!

Hello beautiful friends,So I know it has taken me forever to put a small group camping trip together but have no fear, I am working on it! So I have some locations in mind that are between 1-2 hours away. But would LOVE some suggestions on cool campsites nearby, preferably with hiking and water. Along with that, I am considering the last weekend of April for this shindig to go down. Say leave Friday evening and come back on Sunday afternoonish? Let me know what you all think! Everything is flexible at this point. I will send out a more definite plan at the end of the week. Can't wait! <emoji_u1f30c.png><emoji_u1f5fb.png><emoji_u1f304.png>Becca

GastroenterologyChildren's Medical Center of DallasActually I may have time for guacamole and we have chips so if anyone wants to bring sweets or drinks feel free!
Sent from my iPhoneLooking forward to tonight! Did we decide on snacks and drinks?!
Sent from my iPhoneAlright ladies, I’m going to be honest with you…I’m dreading tonight (if I avoid the inevitable it will just not happen, right?), but I am also really looking forward to celebrating the 3 years that Heather has spent leading this home group (so many conflicting feelings!). It will be emotional, but also celebratory. I selfishly get caught up in my own feelings of how different things will be for me when she leaves, but when I take a step back and really think about it, she is the one walking into the unknown. That is why I want tonight to be a way for us to bless and encourage her. Please come if you can! If you are feeling unsure because you weren’t able to give Lisa a word, don’t worry about it! Lisa will actually be able to add words into the journal tonight for those of you that want to say something in that way.
Also, with all said and done Lisa and I spent $40. If 15 of you chip in $3 bucks that will cover it! Please bring a couple of dollars or you can always venmo :).
Look forward to tonight and seeing you all.

Hey ladies!I've had a lot of words and blurbs rolling in from you all and appreciate it. Please keep em coming. We truly want to send Heather off with some tangible P&V love and affirmation.****Please have your word and blurb (this can be very short so no pressure!) to me by tomorrow (Monday) night at 9:30pm. I will be wrapping it up by tomorrow night and done adding so I don't want to miss out on your additions. As Kaelyn mentioned, if you can bring a couple dollars for us towards her little gift, that would be oh so appreciated as well.See you Tuesday!Love, Lisa

Hi Ladies,For those that weren't able to make it last night, we missed you! We spoke last night about how we would like to send off Heather next Tuesday. We decided to get her a coffee cup, a journal and her favorite coffee. Thanks to Lisa and her creative abilities she will personalize both the mug and journal. What we need from you is this:1) (if you can and want to) a few dollars to chip in for what we buy2) Email Lisa (lmsor...@gmail.com) a word that you feel desribes Heather AND a few sentences that explain that word/how you see the Lord in herWe will use the time next week to bless Heather who has led this home group for over 3 years. Please be thinking of stories, memories, blessings that you can verbalize next Tuesday. Please let me know if you have any questions!Love you ladies!- Kaelyn

Sent from my iPhoneMy vote is to eat-in together... cook a healthy dinner/snacks, play games, have time for QT, catching up, hanging out, and go home late at the end of the night.Should be fun regardless what we do️
Sent from my iPhoneOkay, I took off the ppl I know for sure won't be with us tonight. (Let me know if you won't be here tonight and we will try and take you off as well)
I'm going to throw out another option:Fort build, bring favorite snack, eat dinner and hang out, pretend like we're having a sleepover, but go home before the sun comes up so we can sleep in our own bed.Becca I know you offered up your place - so we could go there.I'm good with whatever / I just want QT with you all! Also, I feel like going out to dinner will be nice, but it would make it hard for us all to talk to each other. Okay, those are my thoughts. Now your turn!Happy Friday!
Sent from my iPhoneOkay friends, what do we want to do?Option 1. Slumber party camp-in at my place. Which includes: bringing your favorite snacks & anything that makes you think of camping, pizza, s'mores, movies, pillow talk, and breakfast out in the morning (I'm thinking ihop or hypnotic donuts)Option 2. An evening outing (dinner and drinks) + movies and pillow talk, with an am breakfastOption 3. An evening out for dinner and drinks (no slumber party), with the intent of going camping another weekend this summer.
