During a flight in wave/rotor , I hit the wildest rotor in 50 years of wave flying. There was no warning , just straight from wave into the rotor
and pitched down 30 deg; as I pulled out at 80 or so kts, the spoiler lock opened, the gear warning beeped but the spoilers stayed retracted.
Had they gone full open I would have struggled to close them, against airflow and friction at the back stopped position.
Has anyone actually been unable to move fully open spoilers?
Is there an accessible back stop? If not I will create one on the handle slide.
