getting out

Hi all  aging PIK pilots,  the 20 E has always been difficult to exit;

even with the pedals fully retracted; one can only push on one pedal.

there must be a way to lock the pedals centralised, making them both available to push.

I have not found an easy way to do this.

Ideas?
