Afternoon all,

The other PIK owner on the field has a 1975 PIK 20B that is just a couple of months newer than mine.  He is prepping his trailer to go to a contest two weeks from now and noticed he has a bent shock absorber and asked me if I would happen to know if they match any automotive shock.  Does anyone in the group happen to know?

There are some differences between his trailer and mine:
1.  My trailer has no shocks while his does.
2.  The axles have the same torsion bar system, sort of like the old VW Beetles.
3.  My tongue mounts to the fiberglass trailer body in the front, his has arms going back
to the axle which I like better because you're not relying on the fiberglass body for
pulling strength.  I may make some arms up for my trailer someday.

Anyway, I'm getting off the subject, if anyone knows what a comparable shock absorber might be could you let me know and I'll forward the information to my friend.

Thanks,
Keith

Keith,

I'm mot sure if there is an "Automotive Equivalent". The original shocks were, I believe made by Al-Ko in Germany. I replaced mine several years ago with the following Al-Ko part:
