האינדיאנו הגרמני הידוע גם בשם אינדיאני אלמנדו הינו זן יונים אשר פותח בדרום אפריקה עוד בתחילת המאה ה-17. לאחר מכן הגזע הובא לאירופה למדינות: אנגליה, הולנד וגרמניה דרך קפריסין. לאחר פיתוחים נוספים גזע זה הוכר כגזע גרמני. לגזע זה יש מגוון רחש של וריאציות לדבלולי המקור. חרף היותו מעופף מעולה מגדלים אותו כגזע המיועד לתערוכות.
