Thank you Katsuki-san,

I revised and added some information.

Hato-san, take care!
We have both very hot days and pretty cold days in this season,
until the beginning of July.
So, you should prepare temperature down when you go out.

Senri-san,

Really? I wish you are getting well!

Minasan,

My mother happened to came on Wednesday. She is 78 old, and have a little problem
with her knees.
So, i thought she is a good target to hear what she thinks.
Attached is interview sheet I made for this purpose. (Sorry it's again in Japanese)

Result;
-It was too long. It took ten or more minutes to hear all of this.
-She prefers many places to sit on in town, but she thinks any figure is OK. Whatever
hight, shape, and so on. Because she needs to sit very short time at each place to sit.
Even she has trouble standing up from regular chairs.
-she takes rest about every 1km or 10 minutes when she walks around.
-She doesn't like to go unfamilier places at all. So, she does't need direction information.
But, also said, when i was a little younger than now, I wanted to go unfamiliar places.
-From above two results, people who need both chairs and directions may not be popular
enough.
So, as Katsuki-san said, we might better focus on rest facilities or direction facilities.
(Befor we make dicision, we might better hear from more people. )

What do you think?

Sorry for my poor English...If I have made you confused, please don't hasitate to tell me that.

Hey all,

I haven't recovered and I am still without my voice >_<
I will turn up tomorrow but as I can't speak, I will have to leave that task to you guys. Really sorry bout that m(o)m
That's a good point...I was thinking along the lines of
"This chair is designed for elderly folk to use during their outings whenever they feel tired. Its secondary function is to recommend places of possible interest by providing an easily comprehensible form of navigation."
As for the survey, here are some comments

Aの問①、②: 車で行きます と言う選択を追加してください
Aの問⑧[はぜ]ではなくて、「なぜ」です

Besides these, I think it is generally quite well-done. *Applause*

Let's meet again tomorrow, but I am sorry that I won't be able to talk :(

Sorry for late response.. I also caught a cold but don't worry, it's not influenza!
Otsuka-san, thank you so much for your work! That's brilliant!!

If it takes too long to fill it, we may cut some questions like A-1,A-2 because our target is the older people who are walking in the city and older people who mainly use buses or taxi are not our target.

I'm thinking about which site older people want to reach when they are walking, which building/function they look for usually in a public space.
I guess it will be hard to put many navigational functions on one chair and it's gonna be complicated probably.
So we need to think about where do they really want to access generally e.g. toilet, station, park. we can ask them in a questionnaire maybe

Then let's talk later guys!

I've attached the proposed survey.
Please take a look at it and revise the language when applicable.

The recommended timeline is as follows:

By 27th May (Wed): Conduct and compile survey results
By 29th May (Fri):    Seek Sensei's opinion on our project's feasibility
By 2nd June (Tues): Prepare draft for Initial Design Proposal
By 5th June (Fri):      Prepare powerpoint presentation for Initial Design Proposal

Does this sound good? We shall aim for 30 people as our survey size.

QL,

Thanks! Today and tomorrow, I'll be tied up at lab the whole day... so I wanna send the result at Thursday if possible.
How will we compile the survey results?
Do you think we should meet for that?

Queationnaire is great!!
Just few things,
1) i think this question is important to decide the place of chairs so we can add the options a bit more detailed.
a) 5分以下、b) 5分から10分、c) 10分から30分、d) 30分以上(どの程度?__)
like above.

4) お気に入りますか?→お気に入りですか?

Thanks,

I am sorry to have left the meeting yesterday.
QL-san, many many thanks for preparing the survay sheet.
It's very good!! It has enough quiestions but small enough, too.
The Japanese terms you put are almost perfect. Very good quality!
さすがです!

I have made a little revised version including Katsuki-san's comments.
Revised ponts are all trivial. Such as....
I don't think お気に入り is a familiar term for elder people.
May be 不満 is better instead of 不安.
What do you think?

I will take survay of 10 people by Wednsday, then let you know results on Excel sheet.

Regarding for schedule, we might meet once for design concept discussion.
On Thursday and Friday, I don't have time to join meeting with Sensei.
Next week, I will be available almost everyday daytime. But sorry, no evenig.

thanks

Yep sure, things sound great. We shall proceed as planned and try to get sensei's response as soon as possible :)
A meeting will only be necessary next week to discuss bout the initial proposal.

Sorry for late report..
I got 10 results. Seems that many old people feel like usig something more convenient for knowing direction and they think there should be more rest spaces on the street. so this will support our concept probably!

How were your results, guys?
do u have any idea about how we can compile?

Hey Thanks Katsuki san for the result.
It's sound good.
I would like to help but a bit hard coz i do not know Japanese.
if you can translate into English. May be, I am able to compile the result
by using IE concepts to solve.
(May be, The knowlage about statistics)

Thanks.

dont forget to ask name and some ref. information of
the person who take our questionnaire.

Here is my result. I wish it would be effective......

excuse:
i had no time on Wednesday.
it was rainy on Thuesday and Friday so, there was no elder people around the bus stop.
when I speak to stranger people in Jiyugaoka station, people tend to feel fishy of me.
So, most of my work was gotten at the meeting of an NPO activity.
they are rather vigor people, some of them still clime moutains.
So, I am afraid my result may be somewhat "onesided" but some person told me
intresting story,
