This from a discussion that came up at a recent Oxford BarCamp, and then on the
Oxford Geek Jam mailing list... Any interest here?

Hi Matt,
I did indeed chair a session at BarCamp about companies contributing
to hackspaces. There were some really great suggestions about what
could be done - one of the ideas that I really liked was that Oxford
Instruments could host a RepRap build party in conjunction with
existing RepRap owners to help build more machines. I'm currently
getting approval from HR here then I'll post some dates and see who is
interested. It sounds like an ad-hoc Oxford meetup is useful for more
software related hacking - maybe OI can then provide specific events
for hardware hacking every few months?

The other main contributor in that discussion was Graham Klyne - I
have CC'd him on this in case he's not already on the lists.
Cheers,
Jason
Do they have dates, and more importantly do we have parts?
Ayo, heart thing sounds fantastic, when can we do that?
Oshug is tag for open source hardware user group camp, not online at mo.
Speak soon.
This is currently a tentative suggestion - so details like that still need to be
clarified. Mainly, I was testing the waters for a possible build party at
Oxford Instruments.
BTW, Oxford Instruments make superconducting magnets and related stuff, which
involves hardware, electronics and software, so they're pretty well equipped :)
The main downside may be that they're a few miles out of Oxford proper, so
public transport to get there may be relatively sporadic. I understand there is
a fairly decent bus service that can stop nearby.
