Gen6 electronics and Linux host software

This is by way of a test of the new listserv, but I also plan to drop
ongoing notes and comments about my attempts to get Gen6 electronics
working with Linux-based RepRap host software.

The suggested software package for working with Gen6 is RepSnapper.
It's written in C++ and based upon GTk, so in principle should be
portable to a range of sstems. The GUI stuff seems to port OK. But
the USB/serial interface under Linux is proving problematic for me.

Things stalled a bit here, due to being rather unwell. Hopefully now
on the mend, and will soon make more progress.
